Preparation
- In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over a medium heat. Add in carrots, celery and onions and sauté until they're just tender, about 3 minutes. Add the minced beef and pork, and cook until browned, breaking up the meat as you stir, 5 minutes.
- Pour in the jars of pasta sauce along with salt and pepper and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
- When the bolognese has reached your desired consistency, stir in the double cream.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta in well salted boiling water for the time as per package instructions.
- Remove from heat, and serve over the cooked spaghetti and top with freshly grated parmesan, and basil.
